On this throwback Thursday, as I reminisce while browsing through past commissions, I would have to say that my sculpture career has felt like a beautiful flowing dance from one amazing project to another. A "Water Dance". For this custom television commission (Zoe 101 on Nickelodeon) I was asked to create an abstract water feature "in the Neil Wicks style" along with a custom pool for it to sit in and the piece needed to be fully functional as a fountain. I had just as much fun learning about water pumps and psi as I did creating the sculpture. "Water Dance" was a beautiful dance in many ways, while I worked on the custom steel piece I hired three amazing artists to dance with me by working on the pool. One artist built the pool and two of the artists painted it. *A little piece of trivia is that the original paint job on the pool was faux marble and eventually the director decided to have it repainted in a flat color. One of the awesome perks in my career is being able to work with many talented artists that I have watched from the beginning of their careers as they set out to build their own companies to ultimately becoming wildly successful. Thank you Fabio, Katherine and Ayanna (My Lifetime Love) for your amazing talent and contribution. I Love you guys. May peace and creativity be yours always as you dance through life, Neil Alan Wicks~
